Captain Crocodile Releases Atmospheric Single “My Black Lungs”

Led by the talented Jack Norrie, Captain Crocodile has a knack for mesmerizing audiences with a unique mix of raw psychedelia and introspective lyrics. Now, with his live band—Aaron Stafford on guitar, Emiliano Del Toro on drums, and Rohan Kapoor on bass—they create an immersive sound that’s textured and thoughtful. It’s quite a ride!

“My Black Lungs” kicks off with modulated guitar swells, warm basslines, and subtle synths, all wrapped around Norrie’s melancholic vocals. As the track progresses, it builds layers of fuzzy guitar and cymbal-heavy drums, reaching a gritty crescendo. Influenced by artists like King Krule and Fontaines D.C., the song dives into themes of self-doubt and coping mechanisms. Norrie even reflects on his smoking habit, a crutch for stress and anxiety.

Self-produced by Norrie, “My Black Lungs” and the upcoming EP blend post-punk, lo-fi psychedelia, and indie rock into a captivating sonic adventure. With previous gigs, including opening for Nightbus and Stealing Sheep, Captain Crocodile is definitely a name to keep an eye on.
