Raised in Antigua & Barbuda, Joshu’s music is a unique blend of indie folk and Caribbean rhythms. It reflects a life shaped by contrasting worlds, with influences ranging from John Martyn to King Short Shirt. In "holding on," he explores the complexities of belonging. Is home the place of birth, where we grow up, or where we feel connected? Such a tricky question, right? As a second-generation white man in the Caribbean, he’s often asked, "where are you really from?" Written in Guatemala and finalized in Antigua during lockdown, this song is a tender reflection on identity and the past.
