Indie-folk artist Joshu has dropped his third EP, way back home, after a soul-searching voyage across the Atlantic.
Fueled by a personal breakup, he embarked from southern England, retracing his route to the Caribbean. This journey sculpted the EP’s introspective themes of belonging and identity.
"While sailing the mid-Atlantic, surrounded by vastness, I questioned what it truly means to belong," Joshu muses. "Home isn’t just a physical place—it’s about the relationships we build: with each other, with the land, and with the non-human beings around us."
Crafted and self-produced in Antigua, the five-track EP marries Joshu’s delicate vocals with lush instrumentation. The title track, "way back home," was born mid-ocean, evolving into a poignant reflection on grief, hope, and surrender. Beyond personal narrative, the project strikes a universal chord of longing for connection.
Raised in Antigua and Barbuda, Joshu fuses indie-folk with Caribbean vibes. This thoughtfully crafted follow-up to his debut EP is sure to keep his name on the rise.
