Marouli Releases Cinematic Album “Tall Tales From A Distant Uncle (Volume 2)”

Manchester’s quintet Marouli has just dropped their evocative new album Tall Tales From A Distant Uncle (Volume 2). The release showcases a captivating blend of cinematic storytelling woven through rich, layered sonics.

Their sound? It’s a fascinating mix that spans vintage pop, jazz, folk, and classical traditions. Each element seamlessly flows into the next, creating something genuinely unique.

What really strikes you about this album is how it’s absolutely laden with raw emotion and unflinching honesty. Every single track demonstrates the band’s remarkable ability to craft these immersive, almost tangible tales that draw you right in.

The group pays clear homage to Billy Connolly’s legendary storytelling tradition. You can hear that influence threading through their narrative approach.

Irish-British musician Graham McCusker opened up about the album’s deeper meaning, sharing: "I also wrote the album for personal reasons – I have now had cancer twice in my life, two different kinds. In the quieter, more difficult moments I have been writing music. Marouli is now that outlet of this music for me and I want to take it as far as it possibly can go."

The project has this incredible knack for perfectly encapsulating those small, fleeting moments in time. You know the ones – they seem insignificant but somehow contain entire worlds.
