Emerging Irish rapper and songwriter, R.O.C, is brewing up something special with his new project. But, while we wait, he’s dropping his sophomore single, “Don’t You Cry.” This self-produced and self-written track was born during a tough time—his late dad’s battle with stage 4 lung cancer. It dives deep into the father-son dynamic, exploring both the highs and lows, the cracks, and personal flaws. It’s a journey of coming to terms with his father’s mortality, really.
Interestingly, even though R.O.C crafted the song while his father was still alive, his passing added layers of emotion and depth to it. The song’s title says it all—it’s a heartfelt call to embrace every fleeting moment and find solace in hard times, without being too harsh on oneself.
