Seafret and James Morrison just dropped their collaborative single "Driftwood" – and honestly, it’s quite the emotional ride.
The duo – that’s singer Jack Sedman and guitarist Harry Draper – teamed up with Morrison to craft what they’re calling an "end of the world" song. Pretty intense stuff, right?
This track’s deeply rooted in our current times. You’ve got these ebbing guitars, bass lines that pull at your heartstrings, and steady drums that anchor everything while Sedman and Morrison’s voices deliver a haunting lament about constant exposure to suffering, global poverty, and that unchecked greed we see everywhere.
But here’s the thing – "Driftwood" doesn’t throw in the towel on hope.
At first separately, then together, both Morrison and Sedman sing "It’s the end of the world/and there’s nothing I can do/but keep holdin’ on to you." Those lyrics hit different.

"Driftwood" essentially urges us all to cling to hope by holding tight to the people we love. Sure, it might seem obvious, but sometimes we need that reminder – and it’s surprisingly powerful when delivered this way.
