Cork’s The Guilteens just dropped "Born Evil," and honestly? It’s haunting in the best possible way. This second taste from their debut EP Heavy Letters hits different—there’s this urgency that grabs you right from the start.
The shoegaze-tinged alt-rock vibes are absolutely visceral. You can feel the cutting edge in every note.
Those echoing guitar lines? They’re built perfectly underneath vocals that somehow manage to be both fragile and commanding. The whole thing’s hypnotic, really—ghostly textures weaving through everything, creating this weird intimacy that also feels cathartic.
"Born Evil is one of our newer songs which originally started out on piano but then switched to guitar and came together quite quickly," the band explains. "We tracked it live, I think it’s the second take we did that we decided to keep."
Second take! That’s what makes it feel so raw, so immediate.
