Nashville’s singer-songwriter and visual artist Winston Liv just dropped their latest single, "Muse." It’s quite the indie-pop gem, honestly.
This track serves as the first taste of Winston Liv’s upcoming debut album, Joan of Snark. "Muse" dives deep into those awkward middle and high school crush feelings we’ve all experienced.
The inspiration? Pure one-sided teenage romance.
"I would draw them a lot and would even write poetry about them, meanwhile they never knew I existed," says Winston Liv. "This song is basically a timeline about having a one-sided crush, and even though it’s not requited, it’s at least fun having an inspiration to create art."
Joan of Snark explores obsessive first loves, insecurity, and those messy coming-of-age moments. But don’t expect doom and gloom here – Winston Liv’s approach feels refreshingly honest without being heavy-handed.

"Muse" bounces with infectious energy. Instead of dwelling on unrequited longing, it captures that giddy excitement of having a crush – you know, the butterflies and daydreaming part.
The track’s buoyancy makes it surprisingly fun to listen to, which is exactly what sets it apart from typical heartbreak anthems.
